| Biography: | |
| I was born Darlene Mandin in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, grew up in the small town of Salmo in the Kootenays and moved to the Lower Mainland as a young girl. It is here that I met my husband of 51 years, Roger, and we raised a family of eleven children. I always wanted to paint but never had the time until my youngest child was entering high school. I started painting with Marlene Sherwin, whose enthusiasm was both encouraging and contagious.I have enjoyed workshops with Maurade Baynton, Hilary Paige, Janice Robertson and Michael Svob. I am a member of the Federation of Canadian Artists. People wonder how I manage to find the time to paint even now. Like anything in life that you love, there is always time to be found. | |
